La red social más exitosa hoy tiene casi el doble de usuarios que la población total de Estados Unidos. Un hito importante en la corta vida de Facebook.
A pesar de la impresionante cifra, Mark Zuckerberg (creador de Facebook) asegura que no quieren focalizarse en los números sino en las historias extraordinarias que se dieron a través de Facebook. Y el impacto que tuvo la red social en la vida de sus usuarios. Así que para festejar este logro armaron una aplicacación llamada “Facebook Stories” donde invitan a usuarios de todo el mundo a compartir sus historias con Facebook, vía Facebook.
Entre ellas se destacan (hasta el momento):
• La del Primer Ministro danés: Anders Fogh Rasmussen que un día salió a correr con 100.000 de sus fans de Facebook.
• La de Holly Rose una madre de Phoneix (EE. UU.) enferma de cáncer de mama que usó la red para alertar a sus amigos sobre este tema y la necesidad de hacerse de chequeos periódicos para detectar la enfermedad a tiempo. Holly también cuenta que Facebook la ayudó a recibir el apoyo de sus amigos mientras estaba enferma.
Zuckerberg aclara que su misión es hacer que todo el mundo pueda estar conectado y que muchas cosas antes impensables resulten posibles/accesibles. Dice que son historias como éstas las que los inspiran y que hace seis años, cuando Facebook nació, jamás se podrían haber imaginado todo esto. Por último agradece a todos los usuarios por ser parte de la red y ayudar a difundirla en todo el mundo.
